Looking for kids’ party games other than musical chairs and pass the ball . We’ve listed up some classic kids party games. All of these game ideas require minimal set up. Plus, they’re cheap and easy to organise. We’ve specifically picked them to help you throw an affordable kids’ party – no matter what your child’s birthday party theme is.

Find your partner - Find your partner is a great way of breaking the ice at the start of the party. Write down the names of famous pairs (Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Tom & Jerry, Elsa & Anna ) on individual stickers and hand them out the children. Then instruct them to find their ‘other half’ whoever finds their partner fastest is the winner.

Donut on a String - Get some donuts and tie the string on the donuts (one for each guest) and hang them from a clothes line, curtain rod or anything that is bit higher. Each player stands underneath a donut. On the mark of ‘go’ the players begin to eat their donuts using only their mouth.  The first player to finish their doughnut wins.

Guess Which Animal Am I? - Stick an animal picture on the back on each child and make sure they don’t know what animal they are. The children walk around the group asking the other kids questions about what animal they might be. Such as “do I have 4 legs?” “Do I have fur?” They ask each other questions and approach the supervising adult when they think they know what animal they are.  The child who guesses what animal they are first could be the winner, but this could just be a game used to get the kids interacting.

Balloon Bust - Probably the simplest game but it guarantees laughs. Place a small prize in each balloon and inflate it.  Blow up balloons an hour or so before the party and put them in a basket. Let kids pick a balloon and on your count, let kids sit on the balloons to pop it. They can use the floor, chairs, or even the couch, but no hands, just their bottoms!

Pin the Tail on the Donkey - Pop a donkey/animal poster up on the wall (you can buy one online), blindfold players one at a time and spin each one in a circle a few times before letting them try to stick the donkey tail as close as possible to where it should be! Of course, it doesn’t have to be a tail or a donkey! You can improvise it to suit the theme of our party e.g. pin the beard on the dwarf or pin the tail on the mermaid or pin the wand to the fairy.

Limbo - Two adults hold either end of a broomstick (or similar) loosely, at waist height. The children take turns going under the stick without touching it, bending their knees and leaning back as required. The stick is lowered after all of the children have crossed under it. Anyone who falls, touches the ground with their hands or touches the stick is out.

Wrap the mummy - Divide the kids into pairs, with one being the Mummy and the other the Mummy Wrapper. Give each wrapper a roll of toilet paper. On the word "Go!" have the wrappers race to see who can wrap up their mummy first.(you can stop in 2 minutes or less depending upon the age group). The game is tricky because the faster they try to wrap, the more the tissue will tear, causing them to keep restarting!
